Thanks for sharing this with me! Obviously it's not mastered yet, as it's super quiet, and I'm not hearing any compression on the master bus. I only bring it up since you mentioned mastering in your notes. Maybe you just meant you're getting it ready for mastering. Your profile pic strongly conflicts with the track. Maybe it's meant to be ironic? Love the flute! This whole thing is giving me an "Age of Aquarious" hippy vibe, not necessarily electronic. Yes, the bass could come down a couple dB, and that's before the heavy bass comes in at 1:36. That one could come down maybe 3 dB. It's also really wide, which is generally considered a no-no. Have you checked in mono to make sure it doesn't totally disappear? Sustained bass at 2:24 can come down 3 dB as well. You've really got me focusing on the bass, but I daresay it stands out pretty obviously regardless. The chord progression is feeling really stale by the 3:00 mark. Maybe you'd consider a B section with different chords? It all just kind of sits there, with no sense of motion or direction. I don't have any particular recommendations for tools. I'm a minimalist myself. I'd just as soon just use stuff in the DAW, except I've fallen in love with FabFilter's EQ, compressor, and limiter. Anyway, you're off to a great start with this! Just pull back those basses and give some thought to how you want it to progress over time. What journey are you taking us on? Right now it kinda feels like a jam session.
