This is simply a lovely song. You sent this to me in SoundCloud before, and I listened several times. Now with this video, I've listened even more, and I'm hooked on this song. You have a great unique retro style that is fresh and creative. Please keep it going! I love it. The video is interesting, a bit bizarre, and the retro font feel of the random lyrics showing up is great. This video wouldn't work on MTV, but it works for fans and people who are being introduced to this song. Instead of opting in for some cheesy love dramatization, you went someplace completely different and not predictable. Congratulations on a great song. Love the transition of the song from 2:45 on. Reach out directly to me for more help in promoting your music. I want to do a feature for you on Fluence and let our community know about your great song. Looking forward to the album coming out.
Thanks for sharing this with me again! I still love the song, and I love what you've done with the video. I'm totally getting the VHS vibe (complete with the jaggly lines and HUD), and it makes for unique presentation. Can't help but think of Star Wars with the pink ascending text, for better or worse. I remember commenting on the bridge before. I'm not sure if you updated it, but it's really working for me now. One comment on the description. You mention that it's "the story of a girl getting over a broken heart...". Unless it's totally disingenuous, I recommend putting it in the first person. "This song tells the story of how I got over a broken heart. Eventually the chill of winter succumbed to summer's warmth." Or something not so cheesy - you get the idea. I'll share it with my following on Twitter later tonight. Thanks again!
I love this so much....The vibe of the video perfectly matches the song...the 80s synth with the 80s computer font (I know you said it's 90s...but for me it feels more 80s....)...All the filters and font work...you captured it perfectly...LOVE the "wistful chorus" - had me on the floor...hahaha.. You are an exceptionally talented individual, Ms. Lanelle...I will definitely help promote this.
Strong vocals and solid production. The chorus sounds very familiar - which is a good thing. Very catchy and memorable. I like the use of synths with this R&B groove. Nice blend of 80s production with 90s vibe and groove. Love the harmonies. Put a video out for this song! Well done. Sharing....
This is a nice track! I think you have all the elements dialed in of a track that tells a story, takes you on a journey, makes you feel, and somehow resolves it all. I love the retro feel of the artwork and the sound and style too. I'm not sure if it's the retro nature of the song or the timeless story of this song, but it feels so very familiar. I'm old enough to really love this and want to share it wide, which I plan to do. I'm going to refer you to some folks who I think would also dig it. Let me know if they work out for you.
Nice song. Really like it. Worth sending it to email@example.com who does our singles column, Disco Naivete, and also Peter from Popjustice would likely like this http://www.popjustice.com/
Wow Aria! I love this! I'm a huge 80s fan myself, but this sounds more modern to me, like Grimes or Purity Ring. Which is of course 80's-inspired. The vocal is the selling point though, and it's timeless. The guitar is a really interesting juxtaposition. I wasn't sold on the bridge at first, but the way it transitions back into the chorus is wonderful, and ties everything together nicely. The ending is kind of cool, kind of weird. I like. :) Fantastic work! I'll share it with my followers on Twitter right now. Thanks for sharing it with me!
Are you serious????? This is brilliant....There is nothing more to be said about this...Everything about this track works...I mean, everything...Production, lyrics, vox...Words are really superflous at this point...When something works it works...and the less you break it down, the better...If you have specific questions, let me know by private message. Yes, I will play this on my show....Can you please send me a high quality MP3? Wow....Seriously great stuff...And you produced and engineered this??? I'm seriously impressed... I want more!!!
