- Owner/Manager at Minor Hymns Records
I run a small vinyl label called Minor Hymns that focuses on new and unique artists that could benefit from having their music put to wax with limited edition appeal. Genres range from folk to jazz to metal.

Twangy guitars and reflective percussion glide into a passionate vocal lead, leading to the haunting "there ain't no honor," chorus. Similar to the previously impressive "Splitting the Atom," "Mercy" touts a murky, late-night character led by twangy guitars and brooding vocals. The "in forgiveness she whispers," section during the second chorus adds an especially chilling element, the "tricked her," guitar-laden accompany stirring with a Johnny Marr-esque resonance. The whistling, western-y outro also plays with captivating qualities. This is another impressive one; I've added the track to my 'Best of September 2021' playlist on Soundcloud. "Splitting the Atom" captivates with its brooding, jangly mood -- shades of The Smiths and Matthew Good Band, very enjoyably. Late-night vibes conveyed via the flickering guitars and moody vocals, amidst lyrics conveying the delicate complexities of a romantic reconnection. "Me, I've had enough to think on," vocal plays with a striking, melodic quality amidst the lonesome-sounding piano and guitar smatterings. The string-laden push around 02:48 adds a chilling, consuming quality, helping drive to a fully satisfying conclusion. Excellent work here, aesthetically and melodically. I've added the track to my 'Best of August 2021' playlist on Spotify, and plan on sharing as a blog post on Obscure Sound as well.
