Hello Cole and Shpresa, What an amazing story, and amazing song... and I'm confident this song will get heavy rotation on Amazing Radio if you upload it to your existing Amazing Tunes profile. As you know, Amazing Radio plays 100% of the music it plays from Amazing Tunes, so unless you upload it, they can't play it. Also I see you've shared the video for this song on Paste magazine, it's gorgeous. You're welcome to upload the video to your Amazing Tunes profile too, and we can share it from there on the AmazingRadio.com blog which is a great way to be discovered by thousands of people in the UK and beyond. Let me know if you choose to share your music there, it's the best help I can suggest for promoting it. Thank you, Ysanne
I'd say it's a cross between early Rolling Stones and Doors. Suggest you target the UK, they love blues rock. Also an older demographic would be a great target for you, as they're still buying CDs and this is such a vintage sound.
It's beautiful, I guess for my own tastes I'd try changing up the chords or the structure to make it a little less regular. Add some unexpected changes. Also I could hear high pitched something, like a high sustained string sound or a high synth drone coming in towards the end to add euphoria...
I'm a fan, you guys get my vote... and I love the quirky lull around 1m 11s. But it does make it trickier for radio obviously. I guess I'd suggest you think of this one as an EP track, and do something that's more radio-friendly for your next release if your plan is world domination...
Hi Huxley, A new one! Thank you for sending this to me here on Fluence. The best thing to do is to upload it to your existing Amazing Tunes profile so the same DJ who played your song 'On He Goes' are able to access it for their Amazing Radio show. It's nicely consistent with your last song, so I'd be surprised if they don't go for it. Meanwhile, we'll bear it in mind for sync. Thank you, Ysanne
Your voices are gorgeous together... and the lyrics are beautifully crafted in this intense, melancholy song. Really think this is great, and I would be amazed if our country music show host, Baylen Leonard, didn't decide to play it on his radio show in the UK, The Front Porch: http://amazingradio.com/shows/thefrontporch Here are FAQs about our radio station: http://amazingradio.com/help/faq In order for him to play it, please upload it to http://amazingtunes.com/ and then drop me a line to say it's there, and I'll make sure Baylen hears it asap. Of course, all of our presenters hand-pick the music they play, and every piece of music uploaded is listened to, but I'd be happy to let Baylen know personally that it's on Amazing Tunes. Best wishes, Ysanne
Like this, and like that you've uploaded it to AmazingTunes.com today. It's a piece of moody, snarling guitar rock pop with a hard dreamy arty stance that somehow combines Libertines with Morrissey via Interpol. I'm going to recommend it to our record label A&R guys as something to consider.
Hi Rick, Great piece of close-harmony psychedelia... I do think the production could be improved. The mix levels are all great, but there's something about the sonics that isn't totally working for me. Needs warmth and fidelity imho. Maybe just try recording the WAV onto 1/4" tape and bouncing it back down into a WAV from that? Either way, please upload it to AmazingTunes.com so I'm able to pitch you for licensing opportunities - we draw 100% of the music we pitch from Amazing Tunes. Thank you so much for playing it to me, I enjoyed it very much, and think our Amazing Radio DJ's will love it too :) Best wishes, Ysanne Spevack Creative Director, Amazing Artists
Good to hear your second single, having first discovered you on Ruth Barnes' 'The Other Woman' show on Amazing Radio. It's more Abba meets Siouxsie if you ask me, don't hear the Morrissey, but whatever the musical references, it's a nice slice of Scandipop with a little darkness thrown in for good measure. Listening out for it to be played on Amazing Radio, fingers crossed it's hand picked by one of our DJs for airplay. Thanks for sharing it on Amazing Tunes, and here on Fluence!
Like this. Also pleased to see it on Amazing Tunes. I guess if I were given free reign over your track I'd probably build it to a greater peak, in the style of a trailer. It trots along quite nicely, but I'd love to hear the yearning quality grow even bigger, and I wouldn't allow it to fall into the little lulls throughout the song. But that's just me. It's really lovely as it is. Wishing you luck with this, and I'll bear it in mind. Cheers! Ysanne
Thanks for uploading your track to Amazing Tunes, just found it here http://amazingtunes.com/shaydmusic/tunes/343285 It's got a lovely positive lyric, let's see if the Amazing Radio team pick it for airplay. Meanwhile, I'll keep it in mind for licensing opportunities. I do think it may work better with a little more time and thought in terms of the journey - it's a little 'schizophrenic' in the way the different instruments come in and out, and could be a little smoother ride. Thank you for sending it! Ysanne
Hello lads, Thanks for submitting this. I know the Amazing Radio has played your song on air, congratulations! I'm glad you've sent this to me now too, as I head licensing for sync for Amazing. This song doesn't shout out sync to me due to the production not quite being up to scratch, just needs a bit of polish and compression to make it TV broadcast-friendly... please do send me the next one you do. Really love the ending, the way it goes into a zone that's different to the main part of the track. Really strong debut track, looking forward to the next recording you make. Cheers! Ysanne
Huxley, this is great... beautifully recorded, sensitive song played beautifully with feeling. Please let me know if you'd like to share it with our UK radio team via our Amazing Tunes platform: http://amazingtunes.com/ FAQs here: http://amazingradio.com/help/faq Thanks again for sharing your song with me, and let me know if you have any questions. Cheers! Ysanne
Hello Roger, I'm a sucker for all things mermaid, but more than that, I'm loving your track for its fluidity and expert production, and for the originality of the lyrics. You've taken on a classic storyline that's as ancient as the oceans, but it's fresh, urban and reimagined. PLEASE please upload it to AmazingTunes.com so we can play it on Amazing Radio, which is a 'real' radio station on air in the UK, and streaming worldwide via their standalone app for smart phones. We play 100% new and emerging music, which is unique in the world for radio stations. Here's the FAQ's please let me know if you have any other questions: http://amazingtunes.com/faq Also if you'd prefer, I'd be happy to host a profile for you under the Amazing Artists USA banner, which is here: http://amazingtunes.com/amazingartistsusa Thank you! Ysanne
It's great, very commercial in terms of licensing for sync, although if I were you I'd be looking to perhaps play with a better sample strings library. Also, it feels like a first pass at a great idea, but why don't you keep building to an epic crescendo in calculated measures, so that it becomes something ready to sync for a trailer or a commercial?
Hi Claus, Quirky! I like the production ideas here, especially the stacked vocals stuff that starts accentuating parts from 1min 30 seconds and the BIG reverbs, filters etc after that point. It pulls off a cool vintage feel in a modern way. I don't think it's likely to make our playlist, as it's not an obviously radio-friendly kind of track, but it's probably worth your time uploading it to AmazingTunes.com for one of the more experimental shows to discover, for example I think Kathryn Tickell could possibly like it, or maybe Frank McWeeny. Thank you for sharing it! Ysanne
Love this! And I see you've posted it to AmazingTunes.com so I've gone over to it there and added it to my new playlist that I draw from for sync opportunities. I don't have any influence on our radio DJ's, everyone is 100% independent and hand-picks the music they play, but I'll send the link to a few of them who I think may like it. Keep in touch, this really is genius...
Sweet mama!! Love this song, holy cow, how much catchier can you make it??! Pop but edgy, a little bit Courtney Barnett in the vocals, a little bit Bo Diddley in the guitars, with some Meg White but tight in the drums... I'd love to share this with the Amazing Radio team via our Amazing Artists page, which is here: http://amazingtunes.com/amazingartistsusa If you're open to this idea, feel free to private message me here on Fluence and I'll let you know the deets... Thanks for sharing! Ysanne
I *think* I like it but... it's such a brief clip, I don't feel I can make a qualified opinion about it from this. However, as always I do recommend you upload it to AmazingTunes.com when you're ready to release the full version so our radio DJ's at AmazingRadio.com will be able to play it if they like it. Sorry I can't be more definitive about it, looking forward to hearing the full version when it's released.
This is really beautiful... love the strings, a lovely emotive arrangement. Can't think of anything more melancholy yet uplifting enough for any dark dance floor... Dark, industrial, but still has gentleness in there from the strings. Feels like something Tiesto would have made if he was a Goth :) Please let me know if you have any plans or openness to vocals being added to it? I know some amazing vocalists who I think could do it justice if you'd like to pursue this idea as an alternative future release. I think this would also expand this track's potential audience. Got a few great female vocalists in mind here in Los Angeles who could do a killer topline for you... Meanwhile, I'm happy to highlight it to our Amazing Radio team if you upload it to http://amazingtunes.com FAQ's here: http://amazingtunes.com/faq#faq21b Thanks again, and sorry it took a few days for me to get to this, it's crazy pre-SxSW busy. Oh and I think we met back in the 90's at Brian's house for his birthday party, I was with Steve Chandrasonic from ADF
This is amazing! That's why I've actually already discovered this song via Amazing Radio! Don't know if I have any constructive feedback for this one, except to say keep doing it like this... and thanks for sending this to me, and I wish you the best of British, and feel free to send more tracks :)
