Walk Away by Vos Lake

Andrew Evans

My first comment is that the track is too long. I think there is a really interesting 3 and a half minute pop song in here that somewhere along the lines just gets a bit lost. Ending up at five minutes is too long. I like the vocals and the repetitive, needling synth though.

Backyard by Vos Lake

Really like this. The melody is almost like a lullaby. The instrumentation is lush but lo-fi and the track doesn't outstay its welcome. Great stuff.

Tomás Doncker — "Evil" by Tomas Doncker

Really enjoyed this. The instrumentation was dynamic and kept things interesting throughout, especially the more background wind/horn stuff. The voice is rich and world-beaten, which adds another great dimension. I'm not a massive blues guy so to be totally honest this doesn't sound much different to ALOT of blues stuff I've heard previously, but I did enjoy it.

I liked it. I like the chorus yet for some reason also found the track didn't hold my attention the whole way through. A touch plodding but the chorus is worth it.
